DARS 1

Sulaiman Ibn Dawud (AS) Prophet Sulaiman (AS) inherited his father's authority; He was the third king of Isreal and he ruled the kingdom for 700 years.

And Sulaiman (Solomon) inherited (the knowledge of) Dawud (David). He said: "O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allah)." (An-Naml 27:16)

This is important to shia

Fatima demanded her inheritance from the land of fadak

The shia's do not accept this hadith because they believe it contradicts the Quran

The sunni's said when Sulaiman (AS) inherited from David (AS) he inherited wisdom and knowledge as well as prophet hood not dunya matters.

When Sulaiman (AS) became king, he asked Allah (SWT) for a great kingdom. He was impressed with horses.

He was playing with his horses until he forgot to pray Asr

He became very upset and begged Allah (SWT) to forgive him.

When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause)]. And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display). And, indeed Wedid try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasadan (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) but he did return (to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah and he did return) to Allah with obedience and in repentance. He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."

(Sad 38:31-35)

The lesson you learn here is sometimes you get caught up in dunya matters and forget your deen.
Allah (SWT) forgave him for his sin of forgetting Asr prayer.
He also gave him dominion over the wind and jinns.

He could command the wind to go anywhere and do anything.

The jinns use to build buildings for him.

The architecture was amazing.

This is the meaning of his dua.

Abu Huraira reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: A highly wicked one amongst the Jinn escaped yester night to interrupt my prayer, but Allah gave me power over him, so I seized him and intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque in order that you, all together or all, might look at him, but I remembered the supplication of my brother Sulaiman:" My Lord, forgive me, give me such a kingdom as will not be possible for anyone after me" (Qur'an, xxxvii. 35).

{Sahih Muslim Book 4 Chapter 52 Hadith 1104} & {Muslim Book 5 Hadith 49}

Only Sulaiman (AS) is allowed to have control over the jinns. If you have someone in your community that control jinns they are magicians - not Muslim.

Prophet Suleiman (as) loved horses so much, he forgot to pray salatul ‘Asr because he played with them and he took an oath that he will never play with them anymore + that’s why Allah replaced the horses with an army of Jinns

[Abu Dawud]

Because only Sulaiman (AS) is given dominion over the jinns.

Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was very wise even as a child.

And (remember) Dawud (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), when they gave judgement in the case of the field in which the sheep of certain people had pastured at night and We were witness to their judgement.

(Al-Anbiya 21:78

When he was 11 years, old at the time Sulaiman (AS) passed this verdict.

His title was Sulaiman (AS) was wise because of his wisdom because he did a lot of jihad he had 100 wives.

One day he said he was going to bed with 100 wives and impregnate them but forgot to say Insha'Allah.

Narrated Abu Huraira: (The Prophet) Solomon son of (the Prophet) David said, "Tonight I will go round (i.e. have sexual relations with) one hundred women (my wives) everyone of whom will deliver a male child who will fight in Allah's Cause." On that, an Angel said to him, "Say: 'If Allah will.' "But Solomon did not say it and forgot to say it. Then he had sexual relations with them but none of them delivered any child except one who delivered a half person. The Prophet said, "If Solomon had said: 'If Allah will,' Allah would have fulfilled his (above) desire and that saying would have made him more hopeful."

(Sahih Al Bukhari Vol: 7 Book 62, Hadith 169)

And never say of anything, "I shall do such and such thing tomorrow." Except (with the saying), "If Allah will!" And remember your Lord when you forget and say: "It may be that my Lord guides me unto a nearer way of truth than this."

(Al-Kahf 18:23-24)

One day Sulaiman (AS) was getting ready for jihad; He arranged his army in order and he had lions and tigers in his army had birds, jinn in his army.

He did not want horses anymore because they made him miss Asr.

And there were gathered before Sulaiman (Solomon) his hosts of jinns and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forwards). Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: "O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulaiman (Solomon) and his hosts crush you, while they perceive not."
(An-Naml 27:17-18)

MANY LESSON WE CAN LEARN FROM THIS STORY IS:

LESSON #1: ANIMALS CAN RECOGNISE PEOPLE

Elephants do not forget and the ant was able to say Sulaiman (AS) was coming.

LESSON #2: ANIMALS HAVE A LANGUAGE AMOUNG THEMSELVES TO COMMUNICATE

There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, and then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.

(Al-An'am 6:38)

They are a community just like you and Animals have amirs too.

All bees listen to the queen bee because they are a community just like you they have a language to communicate.

The ant that cried out, was it male or female? Allah (SWT) said in the Quran it was a female (Qaalat) ant.

When you are a female, you are blessed with motherly instincts

When the ant cried out, she was a female acting according to her motherly instinct a good mother cares for all children because you act according to your motherly instincts.

LESSON #3: YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO LOVE FOR OTHERS WHAT YOU LOVE FOR YOURSELF

The ant cried out to save the lives of others; the ant is a believer when you study animal psychology you will understand that they are believer. Sulaiman (AS) smiled at her speech

LESSON #4: PROPHET'S HAD EMOTIONS

Sometimes they laugh, cry and become angry when the Prophet's son Ibrahim died, he cried.

LESSON #5: ALL PROPHETS DID JIHAD

When Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was marching, he was going for jihad because the battle between truth and falsehood is a never ending battle.

There are two hizb in the world (Hizbuallah and Hizbushaitan)

LESSON #6: ANIMALS HAVE MERCY IN THEIR HEARTS

And because of that; the ants cried out to the other ants when you are blessed with a barakat from Allah (SWT) you should always be thankful to Allah (SWT).

A believer would be grateful to the knowledge.

So he [Sulaiman (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves."

(An-Naml 27:19)

Prophet Sulaiman (AS) made this dua: If you look at this dua carefully, Prophet Sulaiman (AS) mentioned his parents.

You should always have a righteous offspring to pray for you when you are inside the grave.

Abu Huraira (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: (1) A continuous charity, (2) knowledge by which people derive benefit, (3) pious son who prays for him."

[Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari No. 38, Muslim (3/1255) No. 1631, Abu Dawud (3/117) No. 2880, al-Nasa'i (6/251) No. 3651, Tirmidhi (3/660) No. 1376, al-Darime (1/148) No. 559, Ahmad (2/372) No. 8831]

The way David had Prophet Sulaiman (AS) pray for him.

If you should look at the dua'a properly, he begged Allah (SWT) to let him use the knowledge to do righteous deeds because some people use knowledge to spread mischief on the earth they are called wicked scholars.

Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (SAW) one day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: "Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (SAW) said; "Misguided and astray scholars."

[Musnad Ahmad (5/145) No. 21334 and 21335]

For you to be in the company of the righteous, that is great baraka from Allah (SWT).

"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! (Al-Furqan 25:28)

This is why Prophet Sulaiman (AS) begged to be put among the righteous.

And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqun (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr AsSiddiq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!

(An-Nisa 4:69)

Allah (SWT) has recommended these people for your company.

Sulaiman (AS) inspected the birds.

He inspected the birds, and said: "What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?

(An-Naml 27:20)

LESSON #7: WHEN YOU ARE A PROPER LEADER, YOU ARE METICULOUS WITH YOUR INSPECTION

He was so meticulous with his inspection that he realised the hood-hood was missing from the ranks.

"I will surely punish him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason." (An-Naml 27:21)

LESSON #8: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PUNISH A PERSON FOR THEIR LATE COMING

LESSON #9: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO KILL ANIMALS FOR BAD BEHAVIOR

Especially biting dogs.

LESSON #10: PUNCTUALITY IS CRUCIAL FOR THE BATTLEFIELD

Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was angry about the bird being late because the bird was a water bird; The bird was a water expert If they needed water the bird could tell them where the water was.

When the Prophet Sulaiman (AS) said he was going to punish the bird, he was going to pluck out his feathers.

The feathers protect him from the cold, heat, rain and other animals.

LESSON #11: WHEN YOU ARRIVE LATE, YOU UPSET YOUR EMPLOYER

Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was so upset that he wanted to kill the bird for being late

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news.

(An-Naml 27:22)

This proves that birds can travel very far; can travel 1000's of miles.

This proves prophets don't know everything.

For the bird to report, back to Sulaiman (AS) what he saw in Yemen.

It proves the importance of fiqh ul waaqi means current events on the ground.

The bird said the news the I have is naba yaqeen (certain/true news) because he saw it with his two eyes; If you hear from someone else, you cannot say it is naba yaqeen.

some people spread disinformation and some people spread misinformation (to spread false news by mistake)

Disinformation = deliberately set out to lie to the people to spread false news.

The incubator story is called disinformation. Man went to the moon in 1968 is another example of disinformation.

Iraq had a stockpile of WMD is also disinformation.

The bird did not hear the news from anyone else - he saw it with his two eyes.

"I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne.

(An-Naml 27:23)

She owns them the way you own your car, laptop, mobile phone, etc. Because you don't worship Allah (SWT), you are owned by your desires or others freedom is in Tawheed.

DARS TWO

The character of Sulaiman (AS) was so important that Allah (SWT) gave us a detailed account of his life in Surah Naml.

It is not like Prophet Shuaib (AS) or Idrees (AS).

Sulaiman (AS) sat on the throne for 700 years in Jerusalem.

Masjid Al Aqsa was built by Prophet Sulaiman (AS).

The foundation stones of the Kaaba were laid by the angels.

There is another Kaaba in the heavens above our Kaaba.

70,000 angels visit that Kaaba on a daily basis.

That Kaaba is called bait al ma'mur.

If that Kaaba should fall from the sky, it would drop on top of our Kaaba.

Allah (SWT) spoke about it in Surah 52:1-4.

By the Mount; And by the Book Inscribed. In parchment unrolled. And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels);

(At-Tur 52:1-4)

Sulaiman (AS) sat on the throne for 700 years so he is categorised as a larger than life character.

A bird was absent from the gathering of Sulaiman (AS).

Sulaiman (AS) was angry and said he is going to punish the bird.

He said he might even slaughter it.

When Sulaiman (AS) said he is going to punish the bird, it means he is going to pluck its feathers.

The bird was a water expert.

LESSON # 12: EMPLOYERS DON'T LIKE WHEN EMPLOYEES COME LATE TO WORK

LESSON # 13: IT IS PERMISSABLE TO PUNISH YOUR EMPLOYEE FOR LATE COMING

You can take from their salary for late coming.

LESSON # 14: ON THE BATTLEFIELD, PUNCTUALITY IS CRUCIAL

If you are a baker and you arrive half an hour later, no body will die.

If you arrive late to the battlefield, you put the lives of your Muslim brothers in jeopardy.

This is why Sulaiman (AS) was so angry when the bird arrived late.

LESSON # 15: ALL PROPHETS DID JIHAD BECAUSE THE BATTLE BETWEEN TRUTH AND FALSEHOOD IS A NEVER ENDING BATTLE

There are two parties: the party of Allah (SWT) and the party of Shaitan. You can't escape this reality.

These are the two parties in life. There is Hizbu Allah and Hizbu-Shaitan.

So expect the battle between truth and falsehood to be a never-ending battle.

On the authority of Jabir, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Jihad is compulsory on you until Judgment Day..."

[Al-Mu'jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (5/95) No. 4775 and Abu Naeem al-Asbahani in 'Hilyatul Awliya' (3/73)]

Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Good will remain (as a permanent quality) in the foreheads of horses (for Jihad) till the Day of Resurrection."

[Al-Bukhari (2849) and Muslim (1871)]

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news.

(An-Naml 27:22)

LESSON # 16: PROPHETS DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING

The bird knew something, which Sulaiman (AS) didn't know.

LESSON # 17: ANIMALS ARE AWARE OF FIQH UL WAQI (CURRENT EVENTS ON THE GROUND)

The bird went to Saba in Yemen all the way from Jerusalem in order to keep in touch with fiqh ul waqi.

LESSON # 18: BIRDS CAN TRAVEL VERY FAR

The journey from Yemen to Jerusalem is about 6 hours by plane.

There are birds in the USA that travelled from Africa.

The bird said it comes with naba yaqeen (certain news).

The bird was able to speak with such surety because it saw events with its two eyes.

It was not dependent on hear say.

If you hear news from someone else, it is not naba yaqeen.

People lie; even Muslims lie.

The khawaarij say if you lie, you are a kaafir.

Because of that Imam Bukhari collected hadith from khawaarij.

If you lie about how much you earn or your age you are not a kaafir.

If you lie on the Prophet (SAWS) deliberately to make up your own religion then you become a kaafir.

We are not khawaarij who make takfeer on Muslims who lie.

"I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne.

(An-Naml 27:23)

Tamlikuhum means she owned her subjects the way you own your phone and laptop.

The people of Yemen were in such a miserable state owned by a woman.

The reason for this is because when you are a mushrik you are owned by your evil and corrupted desires or you are a slave of someone else.

The bird spoke for a long time.

LESSON # 19: ANIMALS CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MALES AND FEMALES

None of you would have seen that lesson because when you read the Qur'an you don't think deep.

The bird said: This woman was given every luxury that any leader of the earth can be given and she has a mighty throne.

LESSON # 20: ANIMALS CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POVERTY AND PROSPERITY

"I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no guidance,"

(An-Naml 27:24)

LESSON # 21: ANIMALS KNOW WHAT IS TAWHEED AND WHAT IS SHIRK AND ANIMALS DESPISE SHIRK

Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

(As-Saff 61:1)

The great scholar of Islam Qurtubi said in his tafseer said when you see the birds flapping their wings and reciting things in their own language that is the birds establishing their salah.

Because everything in the heavens and earth glorifies Allah (SWT), the bird was appalled by what he saw in Yemen.

He saw people worshipping the sun instead of Allah (SWT).

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.

(Fussilat 41:37)

The animals are created on fitrah so the bird was appalled.

As Muslims we don't worship the sun or the moon; that is our creed.

When people lie and say Muslims worship the moon, their claim is not plausible because of the above-mentioned ayah.

Nobody with a brain will believe this lie.

"I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no guidance,"

(An-Naml 27:24)

LESSON # 22: EVEN ANIMALS ARE AWARE ABOUT THE WEB OF THE SATAN

Animals are aware of Satan and his web.

Even a bird knows that the shaitaan is devious.

Even animals know how evil the Satan is.

They know this because all the animals are Muslims.

LESSON # 23: ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DABBLING IN SHIRK HAVE FALLEN INTO THE WEB OF THE SATAN

Christians are also mushrikeen because they worship three gods; god the father, god the son and god the holy spirit.

They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but One Ilah (God - Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)[]. Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)"

(At-Tawbah 9:31)

They were not referred to as mushrikeen in the Qur'an because they have a book, which is the injeel.

The Jews are mushrikeen too because they took their rabbis as lords besides Allah (SWT).

Allah (SWT) didn't refer to Jews as mushrikeen because they have a book.

Allah (SWT) referred to the Christians and Jews as mushrikeen indirectly in the above-mentioned ayah.

It has been narrated on the authority of A'isha, wife of the Holy Prophet (SAW), who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) set out for Badr. When he reached Harrat-ul-Wabara (a place four miles from Medina) a man met him who was known for his valour and courage. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) were pleased to see him. He said: I have come so that I may follow you and get a share from the booty. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? He said: No. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Go back, I will not seek help from a Mushrik (polytheist). He went on until we reached Shajara, where the man met him again. He asked him the same question again and the man gave him the same answer. He said: Go back. I will not seek help from a Mushrik. The man returned and overtook him at Baida'. He asked him as he had asked previously: Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger? The man said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him: Then come along with us.

[Sahih Muslim (3/1449) No. 1817]

Don't entertain the idea that Jews and Christians are not mushrikeen. They are mushrikeen.

Al-La (this word has two interpretations) (A) [As Shaitan (Satan) has barred them from Allah's Way] so that they do not worship (prostrate before) Allah, or (B) So that they may worship (prostrate before) Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you reveal.

(An-Naml 27:25)

LESSON # 24: AT TIMES PEOPLE LIE TO MAKE UP EXCUES FOR COMING LATE

That is why Sulaiman (AS) said we are going to see if you are telling the truth or if you are a liar.

LESSON # 25: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ANIMALS TO LIE

LESSON # 26: PROPHET SULAIMAN DID NOT INTERRUPT THE BIRD WHEN IT WAS SPEAKING

It proves of the superior mannerism of Sulaiman (AS) because he was a prophet. Prophets have good manners.

Sulaiman (AS) allowed the bird to finish narrating before talking.

The prophet (SAW) was at the peak of good manners and prophets have good manners.

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an exalted standard of character.

(Al-Qalam 68:4)

If you should debate with a Shiite will tell you the Prophet (SAWS) didn't frown when the blind man came, it was Abu Jahl who frowned.

He will use the above ayah to try and checkmate us.

LESSON # 27: PROPHET SULAIMAN DID NOT ACT ON THE NARRATIVE OF THE BIRD; HE VERIFIED IT

The character of Sulaiman (AS) was 100% Islamic.

O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.

(Al-Hujurat 49:6)

[Sulaiman (Solomon)] said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars.

(An-Naml 27:27)

If your enemy should hear something about you, he wouldn't verify it; he would spread it.

Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "It is enough to call a man a liar that he narrates everything he hears"

[Sahih Muslim (1/10) No. 5, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/237) No. 25617, al-Zuhd al-Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (p. 41) No. 249]

The Qur'an is the greatest book of psychology, sociology, history, etc. but it is impossible for you to appreciate the Qur'an unless someone gives you the tafseer of the Qur'an. And because of that the prophet (SAW) said the best among you are those who learn the quran and teach it to others.

"Go you with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them, then draw back from them, and see what (answer) they return."

(An-Naml 27:28)

Narrated By 'Uthman: The Prophet said, "The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 61, Hadith #545]

She said: "O chiefs! Verily! Here is delivered to me a noble letter, "Verily! It is from Sulaiman (Solomon), and verily! It (reads) : In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, and the Most Merciful;

(An-Naml 27:29-30)

LESSON # 28: WHENEVER YOU RECEIVE A LETTER, YOU CAN TELL IF IT IS NOBLE OR IGNOBLE BECAUSE OF WHAT IT SAYS

You can tell if a letter is written by someone who is intelligent, educated or not by the language in it.

Bilqis immediately realised the letter was a noble letter.

She knew about Sulaiman (AS).

He put at the top of the letter bismillahir rahmanir rahim.

LESSON # 29: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PUT AS YOUR LETTERHEAD bismillahir rahmanir rahim WHEN YOU SEND A LETTER TO KUFFAR

"Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allah with full submission)'"

(An-Naml 27:31)

LESSON # 30: WHEN YOU WRITE A LETTER, MAKE IT SHORT

Important people like Bilqis don't have time to read long letters.

The Prophet (SAWS) did not like long speeches.

'Ammar bin Yasir (RA) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying, "Prolonging Salat (prayer) and shortening the Khutbah (religious talk) indicate the religious knowledge of the person. Make your Salat long and your sermon short."

[Sahih Muslim (2/594) No. 869]

The letters of the prophet (SAW) were very short.

LESSON # 31: PRIDE IS THE SINGLE MOST FACTOR WHICH CAUSES PEOPLE TO REJECT ISLAM

The letter of Sulaiman (AS) stated pride; Pride causes people to reject Islam.

She said: "O chiefs! Advise me in (this) case of mine. I decide no case till you are present with me."

(An-Naml 27:32)

LESSON # 32: BILQIS KNEW THE IMPORTANCE OF SHURA

She didn't want to make a big decision without consulting.

Even though she was the queen, she had men around her to help with her difficult decisions.

They said: "We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command."

(An-Naml 27:33)

Even the kuffar knew the importance of shura (the consultative council).

That statement proves they were out of touch with the current events in Jerusalem.

The army of Sulaiman (AS) had lions, tigers, jinn and wind.

If Sulaiman (AS) sent against you a hurricane, what can you do?

She said: "Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do.

(An-Naml 27:34)

The people who support the kings like King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and King Abdullah of Jordan like to say that Sulaiman (AS) and David were kings.

What you have to understand is that Sulaiman (AS) and David (AS) came before Rasul Allah (SAWS).

So you are quoting evidences that are abrogated.

Bilqis said whenever kings enter a land, they corrupt it and make the most honourable amongst its people low.

Allah (SWT) agreed with her statement and said and thus they do.

The reasons why kings corrupt a land is because it is inherited so sometimes a mad man inherits the throne and sometimes a bad man inherits the throne.

Sometimes a bad man inherits the throne.

We have to give credit to Bilqis.

She was royalty yet she spoke the truth about royalty.

LESSON # 33: BILQIS SPOKE THE TRUTH AGAINST ROYALTY AND SHE HERSELF WAS ROYALTY

Reported by at-Tirmidhi on the authority of Safeenah who said that the Messenger (saw) said: “The Khilafah in my Ummah after me will be for thirty years. Then there will be Mulkan ‘aduudan (hereditary rule) after that.”

[Similar narrations are also to be found in the Sunan of Abu Dawud (2/264) and Musnad of Ahmad (1/169)]

The Prophet (SAWS said the rightly guided caliphs will rule for 30 years. Then we are going to have hereditary rule.

Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said, "Prophethood (meaning himself) will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain, then Allah will raise it up wherever he wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood remaining with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, He will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a reign of violently oppressive [The reign of Muslim kings who are partially unjust] rule and it will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, there will be a reign of tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, Allah will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood."Then Hudhaifah said, "The Prophet stopped speaking."

[As-Silsilah As-Sahihah, vol. 1, no. 5]

So the first king in Islam was Muawiyyah.

When Muawiyyah gave Yazid the caliphate, it caused bloodshed.

It caused Hussain to lose his head in Karbala.

They denied Hussain water at Karbala.

How can you deny Hussain water?

It took place in the kingship of Yazeed.

Nobody on the face of the earth resembled the prophet more than Hussain.

How can you chop off the head of the Prophet's grandson?

This is because whenever kings enter a land, they cause corruption.

The house of Saud helped America to invade Iraq.

Kings corrupt a land whenever they enter it.

When Iraq was invaded, thousands of Iraqi women were brutally raped.

The Abu Ghraib scandal is huge.

Fidel Castro was appalled by it.

He was a communist and he posted pictures of it outside the American embassy in Cuba.

The white man doesn't believe in human rights, not even in human rights of their own children.

Kingship is not allowed in Islam because it means leadership is inherited.

What we have in Islam is the ameer.

The panel of Islam scholars choose the ameer.

The leadership is inherited and imposed in kingships.

Don't listen to the madkhalis who say kingship is allowed.

Nobody hates Islam like a madkhali.

They hate political Islam.

"But verily! I am going to send him a present, and see with what (answer) the messengers return."

(An-Naml 27:35)

This was a chess game between Sulaiman (AS) and Bilqis.

Sulaiman (AS) made the first move by sending her the letter.

This is nothing but a game until somebody gets checkmated.

The second move was made by Bilqis.

Bilqis sent gifts to Sulaiman (AS).

So when (the messengers with the present) came to Sulaiman (Solomon), he said: "Will you help me in wealth? What Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay, you rejoice in your gift!"

(An-Naml 27:36)

If you have a laptop which is touch screen and somebody gives you a laptop which is not touch screen, will you be impressed?

Sulaiman (AS) was not impressed by the gifts and he did not accept them.

Don't forget Prophet Sulaiman (AS) made a dua for Allah to give him the greatest kingdom ever.

He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."

(Sad 38:35)

Whatever gifts Bilqis can send to Sulaiman, it is inferior to what he already has.

[Then Sulaiman (Solomon) said to the chief of her messengers who brought the present]: "Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased."

(An-Naml 27:37)

This ayah resembles Surah 8:39.

And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

(Al-Anfal 8:39)

The third move was made by Sulaiman to warn Bilqis that he's coming with an army.

He said: "O chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me surrendering themselves in obedience?" An Ifrit (strong) from the jinns said: "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily, I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work."

(An-Naml 27:38-39)

LESSON # 34: WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO A THING, THERE IS NO HARM IN YOU NOMINATING YOURSELF FOR THE TASK

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" then when [Sulaiman (Solomon)] saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his own self, and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his own self). Certainly! My Lord is Rich (Free of all wants), Bountiful."

(An-Naml 27:40)

The one who said he could bring it by the twinkling of an eye was not a jinn, he was a man.

His name was Asif Bin Barkhiya.

He was a scribe of Sulaiman.

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture means the man knew which name of Allah to call upon for Allah to bring the throne by the twinkling of an eye.
