Tittle: List to go in Istanbul, Turkey
Below is the place that we already visited Alhamdulillah. P/s: I will explain about the places more details in other entries.
Entrance fee: Free but to buy, ride any transport, or shopping here, we have to pay lah like usual, heheh!
2. Ümraniye: The town that provided essensial items for people around. This town has bank like Ziraat Bankasi, Metro line (like LRT in Malaysia), Maya Lokanta (food restaurant), shopping centre, cosmetics and daily bath needs like Gratis (like Guardian in Malaysia) and also have Watson (the best is Watson card registered in Turkish; also can be used here in Turkish).
Entrance fee: Free but to buy, ride any transport, or shopping here, we have to pay lah like usual, heheh!
3. Çamlıca tepesi: This beautiful place is the highest point in Istanbul; meaning there will no places in Istanbul has higher altitude than this place. It is suitable for people to hang out and picnic with friends and family. The scenary is sooo cool and amazing, masya Allah!
Entrance fee: Free but I suggest to bring any food so that we can enjoy the view while eating something! It will be perfect combination, insha Allah!
4. Eyub: This is the place of grave. Lots of grave over there! and the vital thing is the tomb of Ayyub al Ansari located here. Alhamdulillah, we got the opportunity to visit the tomb Alhamdulillah!
- Sultan Eyub mosque (free)
- ride Teleferik: It is like cable car in Malaysia. (Info: to ride this, we have to use Istanbulkart.
- Halic: we can ride ferry along it from Uskudar to EyubSultan station. (Info: to ride this, we have to use Istanbulkart.)
- Gulhane park: Park for public have rest and picnic. *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
- Aya sofia: You should google and read the historical history here! Subhanallah so interesting! *unfortunately, we have to pay entrance fee for enter this museum, I think 40tl for public but if you manage to have museum card especially students; the entrance free will be more cheaper.
- Sultanahmed: this is we called Blue Mosque, I think because it has blue peaceful look from far.
- Hippodrome: this just a tall pillar but also has it,s own history. I think you should google to explore the history. *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
- Basiliça müzesi: a museum with it's own history which is related to Byzantine and the piping system. *pay 20tl with or without student museum card
- küçük aya sofia (mini Aya Sofia): When I and Ilham was there... the masjid was so silent from crowded compared to other places we have visited. I thins because it is quiet far; meaning we have to walk away from the other places like blue Mosque, Basilica museum, Aya Sofia about 750m. *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
- Sokullo mehmet paşa camı (one of the masjid in Istanbul which nearby about 200m from mini Aya Sofia). *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
- Suleymaniye mosque *free entrance
- Eminonu market *free but to buy, of course you have to spend money
- Spice bazar. Info: it is different place and not same like Grand bazar. It is a place full with shops that selling spices, Turkish delight, shawl, sejada, and some souvenirs. *free but to buy, of course you have to spend money
- Rustem Paşa çami *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
- Yeni çamii *free entrance Alhamdulillah!
7. Topkapı:
- Panorama müzesi: It is a museum that illustrates the situation of the war in Constantinople. Masya Allah, we can feel the situation with the help of the sound effect, art of Panorama from the talented creater, the antique items around there, and with the recorded explaination from the audio MP3. *Show any prove that you are student and you will get student price. Alhamdulillah we show our one of the prove that we are studying here in Turkey by showing an offer letter of exchange student, and we got student price which is we have to pay only 3tl for entrance.
- masjid near Panorama. From the museum, we walked about 250m far to the mosque for Asr prayer.
- Grand bazar: we bought some souvenirs inside it. Suggestion from Kak Teh: to not buy anything from the bazar because the price is more expensive rather than you buy from outside the bazar.
- mosque nearby Hafiz Mustafa restaurant: we went to the mosque for Maghrib prayer.
- Hafiz Mustafa restaurant: Kak Teh told us that this restaurant is famous of various Turkish delight and we have to try (but the price is high). Unfortunately, we have no budget to buy. Imagine that one Baklava (one of Turkish delight) is price about 10-12tl. But outside (meaning at the stall outside the restaurants and bazar), we can get cheaper price which is 4tl only.
8. Galata:
- Galata Tower: the tower full with history, you can google the history.
- Galata bridge: bridge near Galata tower. *free entrance
- Taksim square: if you go there, you will see historical monument here. *free entrance because it is located at open place.
- Istiqlal Avenue: place that suitable for those who love shopping and window shopping. There will be more than 10 branded outlet over there like H&M, LC Waikiki (the famous branded outlet in Turkey), Dogo, Levis, Nike and many more. *free but to buy, of course you have to spend money

11. Dolmabahce palace: Basically, it is a luxury and modern palace. We cannot take photo inside it. In October 2018, we have to pay 20TL (after showing student certificate) to enter this palace.
12. Topkapi palace: We visited this old empire of old Istanbul by using Museum Student card. Before moving to Dolmabahce area (Kabatas), the palace was located nearby Aya Sofya which is in Topkapi palace.
13. Aya Sofia: We visited and passed by using student museum card (normal person, they have to pay 60TL for entry price.
14. Ortakoy mosque: From Dolmabahce palace, we took bus about 15-20 minutes to go to Ortakoy Mosque (it's free of course). Around the mosque, you can try Kumpir and Waffle. My friends bought an tried to eat Kumpir for 20 lira each.
